Past Remains

A view of yesterday from today

The ones I've put on the page are mostly of Seaton beach, with the exception of one from Lyme Regis in Dorset. I have hundreds of prints, b&w negatives and colour slides of seascapes, some of which I haven't looked through yet, so whittling it down to a manageable amount has been a bit daunting. Anyway, I've made a start with some of my favourites. A few are a bit samey, and as I add more I'll take out some of the duplicates so that the page doesn't become too unwieldy.

There's always something wonderfully seasidey about deck chairs and a lone one blowing in the breeze is an image that I love.

Taken in 1991, the above photo shows the cliff Beer Head as it looked then...which always made me think of a wallowing hippopotamus! Now however, cliff falls at the far point have given it a longer 'snout '.

Above, the only one so far not taken at Seaton beach. Taken in Lyme Regis on a hazy day, the seagull made an unexpected entrance and happily flew into just the right position when I quickly snapped it.

Sea foam and a washed-up tree branch makes a very happy photographer! ;)

The same viewpoint of the beach and cliffs for the last few photos, with various cloud formations at different times of the day. Can't beat B&W for dramatic silhouettes and contrast.

I'll be adding more and reorganising as and when.
